NUTS-1 Europe (2016)

NUTS regions are administrative units in member states of the European Union, which make it possible to compare regions across countries. NUTS-1 regions are basic regions (for the application of regional policies). In Germany, NUTS-1 regions correspond to the federal state level. The classification is updated regularly.
